Everglades Action Day
Since 2012, Floridians have celebrated Everglades Day on April 7 in honor of legendary Everglades advocate Marjory Stoneman Douglas’ birthday. The State of Florida’s recognition of Everglades Day helps ensure that protecting this unique ecosystem remains a top priority for elected officials.

Each year, the Everglades Coalition marks this occasion by mobilizing advocates to Tallahassee for Everglades Action Day, a powerful day of action at the State Capitol during the legislative session.
​
In 2026, Everglades Action Day will take place February 17–18, bringing together conservation leaders, scientists, students, and community advocates to meet directly with lawmakers and urge continued investment in Everglades restoration. ​

Advocacy Training
Join us on Thursday, February 5th at 5:30pm for a virtual training for EAD26. Participants will learn how communicate effectively with elected officials and present guidelines for effective lobbying with Cara Capp, from the National Parks Conservation Association.
